Responsibilities
Composes and prepares routine correspondence, reports, and other documents
Compiles, organizes, and maintains database of legal and litigation cases
Prepares summaries of opinions and decisions
Conducts legal research and prepares titles, deeds, mortgages, liens, contracts, complaints, resolutions, and other legal documents
Interviews clients to gather information
Inventories, stocks and maintains law library books, and recommends and purchases new books and materials
Accesses reference materials, queries records and files to display and to respond to inquiries for information
Corresponds with the taxpayer over the phone, in person and in writing
Evaluates taxpayer credit history to determine ability to pay delinquent taxes
Provides paralegal support to attorneys in the area of civil litigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy
Locates and develops case relevant information
Performs initial case assessment
Provides detailed notation of taxpayer interviews in the tax system
Performs related work
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal or related field
Three (3) years of paralegal or legal secretary experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Must adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements
