Ascendion is seeking an Education Law Attorney with strong litigation and advisory experience for a direct hire position. The ideal candidate will handle matters related to K–12 or higher education, providing guidance on compliance and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

Manage a diverse caseload of education law matters, including student, staff, and institutional issues
Handle all stages of litigation and administrative proceedings, including pleadings, discovery, hearings, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
Advise and represent clients in mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations
Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, contracts, policies, and settlement agreements
Provide guidance to educational institutions on compliance with federal and state education laws, regulations, and policies

Qualification

J.D.California Bar licenseEducation law experienceLitigation skillsAdvisory skillsCase managementNegotiation skills

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school
Active California Bar license in good standing
2–7 years of experience in education law or related litigation/compliance matters
Strong litigation, negotiation, and advisory skills
Ability to manage multiple cases independently and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues
