This role involves ensuring quality performance across key powertrain suppliers, leading supplier process improvement activities, and acting as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead critical supplier quality initiatives focused on reducing process-related defects and improving reject (QR) performance
Support subsystem quality meetings and drive root-cause resolution for supplier-related concerns
Assist with QR processes including concern binning, reviewing threshold QRs, and dispute resolution
Coordinate quality confirmation for suppliers with repeat containment failures
Lead containment for supplier process issues involving 3MIS/0MIS events
Partner with teams on BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) glidepath targets
Provide early warnings on potential Stop Ship risks related to supplier processes
Support Stop Ship containment and coordinate suspect material reviews
Engage with manufacturing leadership to communicate supplier-related plant quality issues
Monitor daily production reports and escalate issues requiring intervention

Required

Knowledge of managing powertrain suppliers within a major automotive OEM environment
Proficiency in problem‑solving methodologies (8D, FMEA)
Working knowledge of engine and transmission systems
Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
