Test and Qualification Owner - Control Systems
GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Control System Test and Qualification Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing and qualification of military control systems, ensuring they meet stringent safety, quality, and performance standards.

Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols for control systems, ensuring all aspects of functionality, performance, and reliability are covered
Conduct system-level testing, including functional, performance, environmental, and stress tests, to validate control system performance under various conditions
Analyze test data using statistical and analytical tools to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Document results and provide detailed reports
Collaborate with design and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing. Provide recommendations for design modifications and improvements
Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards
Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on testability, reliability, and potential risks. Ensure testability is considered in the design phase
Prepare detailed technical reports, test summaries, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes, methodologies, and tools. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers. Share knowledge and expertise to build a strong, capable team
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones for control system testing and qualification projects. Ensure alignment with overall program objectives and deadlines
Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project success. Monitor resource utilization and adjust as needed
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Track expenses and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal teams, customers, and regulatory bodies. Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any issues
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources. Ensure all changes are documented, communicated, and approved by relevant stakeholders
Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate project performance, identify lessons learned, and implement improvements for future projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, preferably in the aerospace industry
Strong understanding of control systems, sensors, actuators, and related technologies
Proficiency in using test equipment and software tools for data acquisition and analysis
Experience with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of safety and quality standards in aerospace
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proven experience in project management, including planning, resource allocation, budget management, and risk management
Strong organizational and time management skills
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship
Preferred
A Master's degree is preferred
Knowledge of software programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is preferred
Familiarity with data analysis tools and software
Master's degree in a related field
