Responsibilities
Review potentially complex valuation reports to ensure appropriate content and compliance with federal, regulatory, and bank policy. These tasks may include quality oversight, technical desk reviews and/or post funding review
Perform reviews on traditional real estate appraisals and other types of collateral documents for residential properties as well as mixed used and commercial preferred
Determine the corresponding impact on value; real estate appraisal experience and the ability to accurately value real estate based on market data is required
Integrate use of various appraisal related technologies throughout the appraisal review process
Point of contact for complex transactional escalations for internal staff with vendors
Maintain a thorough understanding of all compliance & risk related topics outlined by regulatory authorities
Keeps current with and adheres to company guidelines, order/client guidelines, secondary market requirements and regulatory changes
Reads and interprets plats, maps, deeds, blueprints, and other similar documents
Assist management with inquiries that require the appraiser’s market expertise
Responsible for determining validity in various Valuation reports such as appraisals (traditional/hybrid/alternative), Broker Price Opinions (BPO’s), Automated Valuation Models (AVM’s) and other Valuation products
Render opinions on the quality and reliability of new and existing file appraisals per policy guidelines, and provide opinions as to the quality and marketability of loan collateral
Work independently with minimal amount of supervision and lead commercial valuations projects
Meet internal production goals as well as service and high-quality standards
Qualification
Required
Experience both as a fee appraiser and financial institution (or similar) reviewer
Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
Interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
