Miller Industries, LLC is a family-operated business specializing in custom products and manufacturing. They are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026 to implement Lean activities and improve productivity within the shop.

Responsibilities

Present a fully developed and costed action plan of activities to implement Lean activities within the shop
Prioritize the action plan, consider the resource required to implement the action plan, hold breakout meetings with Supervision and team leads and on-board key players
Raise purchase orders for supporting equipment, signage etc
Implement the Lean action plan with milestone meetings and updates to Senior Management
Conduct waste audits
Make recommendations to management on potential waste savings so they can be prioritized
Measure productivity improvements through elimination of waste, improving current processes and identifying value adding opportunities

Qualification

Lean practicesManufacturing processesCommunication skills

Required

Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor's Degree in related field
Keen interest in Manufacturing processes, knowledge of Lean practices and techniques, good ability to communicate to peers

Preferred

Students at Junior or Senior status are preferred
