Start in 2026 SummerThe Town of Windsor, CT is seeking an Environmental Education Intern for Northwest Park’s nature center during the summer season. This internship offers hands-on experience in environmental education, allowing the intern to create and deliver engaging programs while collaborating with the Environmental Education Supervisor on a capstone project.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with Environmental Education Supervisor and park educators to design public programs for visiting groups and lead scheduled sessions
Engage with Camp Foxfire staff and campers, assisting in age-specific activities and special topics as needed
Engage visitors in the nature center and outdoors through interactive presentations
Support animal care tasks at the nature center and animal barn as needed
Contribute to daily nature center operations, including customer service
Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor, ensuring flexibility and teamwork
Qualification
Required
Minimum age: 18 years
Enrolled in a college/university program
At least one year of study in environmental education, biology, or a related field
Passion for natural history and teaching
Strong communication skills for engaging various groups and ages
Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
