Fractional Chief Financial Officer
CFO Simplified is a Chicago-based fractional CFO firm that has been providing services for nearly 20 years. The role involves serving as a part-time CFO for multiple clients, providing strategic financial direction and mentoring existing accounting teams.
Responsibilities
Work between 2 and 4 days per week across multiple client companies as their designated part-time CFO
Typically assigned 3–5 clients on a regular basis, with the majority of work being performed remotely
Serve as a strategic advisor to owners and presidents
Provide mentoring and guidance to existing accounting teams and management staff
Qualification
Required
Candidates must have meaningful experience in at least two of the following areas: Professional Services companies (law firms, medical practices, architectural firms, agencies, consulting firms), Non-profit organizations, Wholesale distribution, Law firms
Professional services experience is required; non-profit experience is strongly preferred
Experience Guiding Companies With Profitability and cash flow improvement
Costing, financial analytics, and performance measurement
Strategic financial direction in partnership with ownership and executive leadership
The ideal candidate has served as a CFO or senior finance leader for middle-market organizations ($20 million to $250 million+ in annual revenue) for a minimum of 10 years
Candidates must be strong communicators, analytical thinkers, and comfortable building trusted relationships with business owners and leadership teams
Experience working in a fractional, advisory, or consulting capacity is highly valued
Working knowledge of financial reporting packages and ERP systems
QuickBooks experience is helpful
Development of cash flow forecasts
Financial modeling with multiple scenarios
Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial leaders
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business (required)
