Responsibilities
Responsible for leading design projects of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
Oversee the specifications of mechanical equipment, including duct work, air handling units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, etc
Perform heating/cooling load calculations, site visits, surveys, reports and commissioning in support of mechanical design for commercial building, healthcare, educational and government facilities
Lead MEP projects and engineering team members in cross-functional setting and collaborate to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met according to client's expectations
Oversee the interpretation of building codes, client specifications, as well as quality assurance processes of HVAC design projects
Mentor and lead development of junior level engineering staff
Perform other project management duties, such as proposals, requests for information (RFI's), construction administration, punch lists and commissioning
Manage relationships with existing clients and architects for engineering and design consultations
Develop relationships with new and prospective clients for potential projects
Travel to local project sites may be required; some overnight travel may be expected
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus from ABET accredited college or university
10+ years of experience working with an MEP engineering consultant in Mechanical/HVAC Building System Design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Trane Trace software applications is required
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects
Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision
Occasional travel is required
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
P.E. license is required
HVAC engineering: 10 years (Required)
Project engineering: 5 years (Required)
Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required)
Ability to Commute: Pittsburgh, PA 15221 (Required)
