Die Resident Engineer - Manufacturing Engineering

Responsibilities
Analyze and implement product or machinery designs to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods
Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas
Direct the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned stamping operations
Collaborate with product engineering, die design, and tool construction teams to ensure dies meet performance and launch readiness targets
Maintain regular communication with suppliers, cross-functional engineering partners, and plant manufacturing teams
Provide technical direction and guidance to small groups of engineering or technical employees
Evaluate and monitor process and equipment-related expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with program budgets
Oversee engineering, design, construction, and tryout activities for stamped body panels at the assigned die shop
Develop and manage detailed timing and scheduling plans with die shop leadership to meet launch milestones
Lead issue resolution and track lessons learned to continuously improve future die development and launch performance
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience with die and stamping in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of production and equipment technology for stamped body components
Understanding of individual stamped components and sub-assembly integration
In-depth knowledge of primary and secondary tryout events and related processes
Strong familiarity with stamping press types, automation systems, and simulations
Working understanding of weld tool systems, checking fixtures, and ETACS
Broad knowledge of tool and die operations, die-to-press interface issues, and stamping critical success factors
High level of analytical ability to solve complex and unusual engineering challenges
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal ability to collaborate and motivate cross-functional teams
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
7+ years of experience with die and stamping in a manufacturing environment
