Responsibilities

Scale out Arene’s cloud infrastructure to allow engineers to execute automotive software tests faster, in more regions, and for a growing userbase

Lead team members in efforts to launch user-facing applications that allow simple interactions with our test rigs, enabling users to easily launch new rigs, reconfigure environments, and monitor executions

Collaborate with teams (and other infrastructure engineers) in Tokyo to align on goals and share experiences from North America-based teams

Identify areas for improvement, from helping teams test more efficiently, to implementing cost-saving scaling strategies, and be a key part in planning solutions

Maintain APIs that treat other Arene teams as customers, delivering well-tested, fully documented services that can be considered an example of best practices

Utilize automated monitoring tools to establish and deliver on SLAs that provide global availability

Visit other offices throughout the year, from London to Tokyo, to demonstrate recent developments and lead workshop sessions

Required

Strong cloud infrastructure experience with platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure

Understanding of infrastructure scaling to support global deployments and highly variable user traffic

Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools, like Terraform

Comfort with container-based deployments, especially using Kubernetes

Regular use of CI/CD pipelines to execute software deployments

Experience managing APIs, ensuring they are well-documented, scalable, and reliable

Expertise with automated monitoring and alerting tools

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical concepts globally

5+ years of experience developing software, with 2+ years of cloud infrastructure responsibilities

Preferred

Experience working in a distributed team environment

Appetite for regular cross-country and international travel

Deep experience with Golang or Python

Openness toward mentorship opportunities

Familiarity with the automotive industry
