Responsibilities
Accountable for the processing of incoming and internal referrals from multiple sources
Ensures that referrals are processed and patients are scheduled for services in a timely and accurate manner
Accountable for scheduling single appointments for specialty, hospital and primary care services, coordinate patient appointments with multiple providers, complex patient procedures, etc
Ensures delivery of appropriate patient information and communicates appropriate exam information, appointment times and appointment preparation instructions (if indicated)
Coordinates scheduling related communication with physician offices, clinics, other hospital departments and patients
Completes pre-registration at the time of scheduling as well as insurance verification and verifies receipt of all required documentation from the referral source
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
Minimum one (1) year Related experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of basic medical terminology. (required)
Preferred
Minimum two (2) years Registration and scheduling experience in specifically a physician practice or clinic/hospital care setting. (preferred)
Knowledge of EMR systems is desirable
Familiarity with keyboarding and Microsoft products is preferred
Bilingual Skills Preferred
