Responsibilities

Provide primary HVAC support for high‑biocontainment facilities associated with the ADRDL, PPVM, and research programs, including BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 environments

Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems to ensure reliable operation in specialized laboratory settings

Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work, for the SD Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Laboratory, Veterinary & Biomedical Sciences Department, and the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine

Provide primary HVAC support for high‑biocontainment facilities associated with the ADRDL, PPVM, and research programs, including BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 environments

Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems to ensure reliable operation in specialized laboratory settings

Knowledge of HVAC and control systems for both small and large commercial sized equipment

Knowledge of hydronic systems

Knowledge of computers and computer systems for managing work orders

Knowledge of specialized HVAC control systems (MetaSys, CRC control systems, JCI control systems)

Skill & Ability to keep all temperature control systems, heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems adjusted, calibrated and reliably operational

Skill & Ability to diagnose problems, repair and maintain specialized HVAC equipment and systems

Skill & Ability to install new systems and controls

Skill & Ability to maintain records and order inventory and supplies

Skill & Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing

Skill & Ability to work independently and part of a team

Valid Driver's License
