PlayCore is seeking a Design Drafter – Programmer to collaborate with Design, Sales, and CNC Router and Sheet Laser Operators. This role involves designing and drafting 2D and 3D part drawings for custom routed and laser cut parts while ensuring product change requests and revisions are processed efficiently.

Responsibilities

Designing and drafting 2D and 3D parts

Programming routed HDPE parts utilizing Sigma Nest and Part Works CAD/CAM program for CNC routing and 3D V-Carving and engraving

Design and program custom routed HDPE panels and signs working closely with Sales and Customer Service

Programming for Sheet Bed Laser, by providing digital files (.DXF) to manufacturing machine set up

Complete Product Change Requests (PCR) and Quality Deviation Reports (QDR) for all routed parts and custom laser cut steel panels and signs

Must be able to understand and convey scale and perspective of designs in conceptual drawings, sketching, 3D modeling, Photoshop work, etc

Build prototypes and study models when necessary to gain a sense of scale

Must be able to work and meet deadlines and work well under the pressure of a fast paced environment

Must have a knowledge of materials and methods of manufacturing

Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Required

Associates Degree in Drafting and Design and/or 5 years relevant work experience required

Must have a strong working knowledge of materials and methods of manufacturing

Experience with sheet metal, pipe, routed HDPE and rotationally molded plastic is a plus

Must have strong mathematical and numerical skills

Continuous training in CNC machines and programming

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCad for design work, concept and production modeling

Must be knowledgeable in CNC programs such as PartWorx and Amada Dr. ABE Blank

Must be eager and willing to quickly learn, operate and apply new software to improve quality and production efficiency
