The role involves supporting heavy highway projects, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities
Support heavy highway projects as a Field Engineer (bridges/roadways/IDOT-style work)
Work daily with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and crews
Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper certifications per contract requirements
Maintain daily field documentation (reports, schedules, photos, tracking)
Monitor subcontractor progress and support schedule execution
Help manage and balance concrete deliveries and pours
Assist with closeout tasks, quantities, and job cost reporting
Work outdoors year-round; occasional second shift during phase changes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a U.S. university
0–5 years of experience (field/engineering internships/co-ops count for entry level)
Comfortable working on active jobsites and collaborating with field crews
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam familiarity is a plus
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to job sites
Preferred
Exposure to heavy highway / heavy civil construction is strongly preferred
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
