Lesley University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach GPSYC 1551: Pre Internship Seminar. The course introduces students to human service professions and prepares them for their first internship experience through various teaching methods and guest presentations.

Responsibilities

Teach GPSYC 1551: Pre Internship Seminar; Mondays/Wednesdays 11:10 AM - 12:25 PM; Fully in-person, on-campus

Introduce students to a wide range of human service professions, with particular attention paid to art therapy, counseling, expressive arts therapy, human services, holistic psychology and psychology

Provide an overview of the history and methods of the human service professions

Explore career opportunities through guest presentations and assignments in community settings

Introduce values and ethical issues facing professionals as students plan and prepare for their first internship experience

Qualification

Master’s degree in PsychologyTeaching experiencePhD in PsychologyAdapt pedagogical approachesApplied mental health practice

Required

Master's degree in Psychology or a related field required

Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level in the particular discipline

Demonstrated ability to adapt pedagogical approaches to meet diverse learning needs

Preferred

PhD preferred

Prior experience in applied mental health practice preferred
