Responsibilities
Assisting in the care of orthopedic patients including taking of vitals, data collection, and application and removal of casts and coordination of patient flow under the direction of the physicians
Welcomes/rooms patient and family in a timely efficient manner and collects patient information and vital signs specific to the practice setting (medical history, medication usage, fall risk assessment, etc)
Effectively utilizes VCH systems, software and modules effectively to perform job related functions
Documents all pertinent information in a precise, clear manner
Functions as a patient care team member assisting licensed staff in the performance and provision of safe, service-oriented and efficient patient care
Participates in department projects that result in process improvements to support accomplishment of strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
Program Graduate of a patient care program or two semesters of a nursing program or two years in a similar patient care role (ACT, MA,ASR) or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
Minimum two (2) years Orthopedics or patient care related experience (required)
