Responsibilities
Manage and execute global trademark prosecution, including filing strategies, office actions, renewals, and maintenance
Conduct trademark search and clearance
Lead and coordinate trademark enforcement
Advise on copyright issues
Partner with key internal functions such as Marketing, Regulatory, R&D, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams
Contribute to trademark governance, portfolio strategy, brand guidelines, and naming frameworks
Support IP components of transactions, licensing, and due diligence as needed
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of trademark-focused legal experience
Experience in managing copyright matters, with trademarks being the dominant portion of your work
Combined BigLaw and in-house experience
Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience required (direct or adjacent: biotech, medical device, diagnostics, consumer health)
Strong foundation in trademark prosecution, search/clearance, and enforcement
Experience managing global portfolios and working with foreign counsel
Familiarity with EUIPO, TTAB, Madrid Protocol, and cross-border filing strategies
J.D. degree with strong academic credentials; U.S. bar admission required
Ability to communicate efficiently with non‑legal stakeholders and balance risk with business needs
Comfort working independently in a remote environment and across time zones
Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model
