They are seeking a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own the AWS cloud foundations end-to-end, responsible for provisioning AWS accounts, defining secure infrastructure, and building AWS CDK libraries for application teams.

Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end provisioning of AWS accounts across environments (prod, staging, dev)
Design and manage: VPCs, subnets, routing, NAT, VPNs, peering IAM roles, policies, permission boundaries, and account-level guardrails Shared infrastructure components (logging, monitoring, CI/CD foundations, DNS, Route 53)
Establish multi-account AWS strategies (organizations, SCPs, environment isolation)
Design, build, and maintain shared AWS CDK libraries used by application teams
Provide reusable constructs for: Networking Compute (Lambda, ECS) Databases (Aurora/Redshift) Observability Security controls Ensure CDK libraries are well-documented, versioned, and easy to adopt
Act as the final reviewer for infrastructure changes with high blast radius
Own the cloud security posture: IAM least-privilege design Secrets management Network isolation and access controls Logging, auditing, and alerting
Define and enforce security best practices through code
Maintain documentation (security policy, guidelines, procedures, etc.)
Proactively identify risks and lead remediation efforts
Partner with engineering and product teams to balance security, velocity, and usability
Define standards for: Monitoring, logging, and alerting Incident response and on-call readiness Disaster recovery and fault tolerance
Lead or support major incident responses related to infrastructure
Continuously improve reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience
Act as a technical authority for cloud infrastructure and SRE practices
Mentor engineers on infrastructure design, AWS usage, and operational thinking
Drive cross-team alignment on cloud patterns and standards
Influence long-term infrastructure strategy in partnership with engineering leadership
Qualification
Required
Strong experience designing and operating AWS-based cloud infrastructure at scale
Deep hands-on experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python)
Solid understanding of: Networking (VPCs, routing, VPNs)
IAM and security design
Observability and incident response
Experience building shared platforms or internal infrastructure tooling
Ability to work autonomously and make high-impact technical decisions
Strong communication skills — able to explain complex infrastructure topics clearly
