Frontend UI Engineer
District Partners is supporting a major federal modernization program for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The role involves building responsive single-page applications and collaborating with backend engineers in an Agile environment to ensure compliance with security and accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
Build responsive, dynamic single-page applications (SPAs) using modern front-end frameworks
Develop reusable UI components and libraries aligned with security and accessibility standards
Collaborate with backend engineers, DevOps, and product owners within an Agile, sprint-based environment
Contribute to architecture discussions, sprint planning, and peer code reviews
Deploy front-end applications in a secure cloud environment using CI/CD pipelines
Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility, performance, and security requirements
Qualification
Required
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
Experience with React, Angular, or Vue (React preferred but not required)
Familiarity with Spring Boot or similar service-driven backend environments
Strong understanding of REST APIs and front-end integration patterns
Experience working in Agile teams using JIRA, Git, Jenkins, or similar tools
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS or Azure)

Must be able to obtain a DHS/CBP Public Trust
US Citizen
Preferred
Prior DHS, CBP, or federal program experience
Active or previous clearance (Public Trust, Secret, or higher)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized deployments
Understanding of secure coding practices and 508 accessibility standards
