Responsibilities

Analyze internal and external viscoelastic structures used for solid rocket motors
Design and assess solid propellant grain geometries for new rocket motors
Assess results of static tests to improve analytical modeling
Develop and present documented analyses to internal and external customers
Evaluate historical motor performance data
Develop test and data requirements for viscoelastic structures
Coordinate tasks with other analysts and designers
Improve and update analytical methods and computer software
As needed, perform tasks in adjacent roles such as thermal, design, ballistics, and CFD
Travel expectation of 0% - 5%
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
Basic knowledge of solid rocket motors and their structural makeup
Computer software (Abaqus, CAD, FEM, and MS Office)
Familiarity with statistics and statistical methods
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
In addition to the basic requirement of Level 2, you will need a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience using finite element analysis software to solve structural problems

Preferred

Master's degree in engineering (e.g. Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Chemical) with 3 years of experience or a PhD in engineering
Experience and/or education with an emphasis on finite element methods, structural analysis, dynamic response, material testing
Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
Experience performing, documenting, and presenting technical analysis
Experience evaluating large data sets and deriving conclusions
Demonstrated success in a team environment
