The role involves developing and managing data engineering projects to support AI and Data Analytics strategies, focusing on data platform architecture and governance.

Responsibilities

Developing, deploying, and managing data engineering projects
Assisting the VP of Emerging Technologies in architecting the data platform (on premise, cloud and hybrid)
Focusing on data pipeline development, data governance, and performance monitoring
Using AI in support of data management capabilities

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in data engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
5+ years' experience in data engineering (building data pipes, data lakes, data warehouse)
Proficient in constructing and managing modern data warehouse and data lake house architectures, ensuring scalable and efficient data storage
Skilled in building and maintaining robust data pipelines and orchestrations, with a focus on scalability and reliability
Deep knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes for data transformation and integration
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and orchestration tools
Data Governance - Data Quality Controls, General Ledger Reconciliations, Transmission and interface controls
Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in data storage frameworks (Apache Spark, Databricks, or Hadoop)
Must have an innovative mindset and be forward thinking along with advanced written and verbal communications skills
Must also have excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and initiative

Preferred

Banking and Financial Services data domain knowledge is a plus
