Responsibilities
Lead and supervise design and technical staff, providing mentorship and guidance
Manage construction documents, contracts, schedules, budgets, and fee proposals
Oversee client and public-agency interactions, ensuring strong relationships and effective communication
Direct conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies, addressing zoning, site constraints, and regulatory requirements
Review constructability and provide construction support and field coordination
Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within 6 months
8–12 years of relevant civil engineering experience (or 12–15 years of equivalent industry experience)
Minimum of 3 years' management/supervisory experience leading technical staff
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Strong leadership, supervisory, and project management skills
Ability to make independent, sound engineering and business decisions
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities
Working knowledge of regulatory processes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements in California
Ability to balance technical expertise with business and management principles, including resource allocation, team coordination, and strategic planning
