Responsibilities

Define API architecture standards, domain boundaries, and governance models
Design scalable, secure, and observable Kong APIM infrastructure
Lead API discovery, rationalization, and domain modeling efforts
Architect multi-tenant, federated API environments across business units
Integrate Kong with iPaaS, identity providers, and observability platforms
Guide teams on semantic traceability, versioning, and lifecycle management
Evangelize API-first culture and developer experience best practices

Required

10+ Years (Mandatory)
Deep expertise in Kong Gateway, Kong Konnect, and plugin architecture
Strong grasp of open architecture principles (modularity, interoperability, governance)
Experience designing API platforms in hybrid/multi-cloud environments
Familiarity with service mesh, ingress controllers, and Kubernetes networking
Ability to translate business capabilities into API domains and contracts
Strategic thinking around vendor selection, scalability, and orchestration maturity

Preferred

Experience with agentic orchestration, semantic APIs, and event-driven architectures
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR) and API security standards
Strong communication skills for executive-level messaging
