The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Lead Instrumentation Coordinator to oversee the preparation, sterilization, and delivery of medical equipment for surgeries and procedures. Responsibilities

Prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures

Ensure equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections

Serve as a clinical liaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise

Responsible for tray movement logistics, and standardizing instrument trays across the Enterprise

Monitor the OR schedule to ensure instrumentation is processed and delivered to the OR without delay

Provide clinical orientation for CCS Technicians and Instrumentation Coordinators in coordination with the CSS Educator

Educate clinical standards and policy and procedure and provide feedback as necessary

Help lead the oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory

Assist in projects and process improvement

Promote customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center

Organize instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise in a standardized procedural manner

Required

Experience in preparing, sterilizing, installing, assembling, and cleaning clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures
