Internal Control Manager

The Keller Group is supporting a stable, growing client in the search for an Internal Control Manager. This role supports the planning, execution, and reporting of business and IT control testing in compliance with SOX and FDICIA requirements, overseeing team members and ensuring effective control evaluation and improvement.

Responsibilities

Document Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) and maintain risk and control matrices; manage control documentation and testing workpapers using Workiva
Lead, coach, and develop the team, including responsibilities for hiring, performance management, training and reviewing work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with established standards
Identify, document, and present control deficiencies, perform impact analyses, and support the development of remediation and mitigation strategies
Build and maintain effective working relationships with process owners, control owners, internal and external auditors, and regulators
Promote clear, timely, and effective communication with staff and management

Required

5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Public Accounting or a related field
Bachelor's degree required
Advanced knowledge of internal control evaluation, risk assessment methodologies, SOX, FDICIA and/or FRB reporting requirements, COSO framework, IIA standards and GAAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
Excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred

Master's degree or MBA
Entry to intermediate understanding of general banking operations, including deposits, loan administration, treasury management, and commercial banking products
Entry to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements, as well as industry standards and practices
Prior leadership experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
