Fund Manager

Responsibilities
Provide analysis and budgetary administration for the Yanai Initiative for Globalizing Japanese Humanities
Monitor budgets, approve and process purchasing-related transactions, and complete financial reports
Support preparation of fiscal close in coordination with the ALC senior fund manager and CAO
Provide professional support services including fund management and ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and budget analysis
Prepare and report contracts and grants budgets, prepare international agreements, and process visiting graduate researcher appointments and visa applications
Utilize all pertinent databases
Qualification
Required
Detailed knowledge of University Accounting procedures and policies relating to purchasing, travel, and general accounting practices
Skill in the use of standard office software packages, MS Word, MS Excel, and ability to perform internet searches
Knowledge of UCLA Web-based systems including BruinBuy Plus, Online Financial Systems Reports (OFSR), MTF, Transfer of Funds (TOF), NPEARS, Travel Express, Transact, GoGrad, MyBruin International, and EPASS
Demonstrated skill and knowledge of financial management principles, budget preparation, and budget analysis techniques employed at UCLA
Ability to work accurately with detail while juggling multiple priorities under minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to be punctual with all work-related items
Ability to work and communicate with faculty, visitors, students, department staff and staff from other departments in a diplomatic manner
Ability to perform accounting tasks independently, accepting challenging circumstances and taking initiative to solve problems where solutions are not always readily apparent
Demonstrated skill in analyzing financial data to draw appropriate conclusions, recommend solutions, and communicate results orally and in writing
Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience / training
Preferred
1-2 years University Fund Management Experience
Detailed knowledge of University fiscal closing policies and procedures
Knowledge of visiting graduate researcher appointment procedures
Knowledge of international student and scholar visa requirements and processing
