Product Design Technician-Fenestration System Designer

VEKA North America is a leading manufacturer in the window and door industry, seeking a Product Design Technician to support the design and documentation of fenestration systems. The role involves creating designs, maintaining product costings, and collaborating with various departments to ensure product accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

Create preliminary designs for new fenestration products and modify existing systems
Develop and maintain preliminary product costings, cutting formulas, and bills of materials
Use CAD software to create, review, revise, and maintain:
Mechanical drawings
3D models and renderings
Release approved drawings for internal VEKA use
Distribute drawings to vendors and customers as required
Maintain key system documentation, including:
Fabrication manuals
Master profile charts
Product weight charts
Coordinate and support 3D-printed samples and prototypes
Interface with vendors and customers on technical projects and design questions
Provide interdepartmental support across Operations, Quality, and Engineering
Mentor and provide direction to CAD Operators
Maintain accurate electronic files and drawing control
Assist with cross-functional projects and perform other duties as assigned

Required

Working knowledge of fenestration systems, fabrication processes, and tooling
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office 365 tools
Strong technical documentation and drawing control skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Creative, improvement-focused thinker with a logical and methodical approach
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Ability to interact effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors
Commitment to staying current with CAD software and design tools
Associate's Degree in CAD Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Equivalent experience in fenestration or manufacturing design may be considered
