Responsibilities

Write product or system development code

Design, build, and operate the end-to-end services that bridge user requests with Google's backend systems. Your code will run across global cells, managing millions of queries per second (QPS) on the critical path for products like Search, Ads, and YouTube

Lead the design and execution of significant sub-projects, coordinating with stakeholders and senior engineers to ensure smooth integration into the global stack

Leverage machine learning and automation to safely and transparently evolve our production stack, automating complex updates across tens of thousands of customers to maintain a modern and performant global infrastructure

Improve the overall health of the Static Content Service by identifying systemic issues, improving observability, and driving best practices in code quality and testing

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture

2 years of experience programming in C++

Preferred

Experience in one or more of the following areas: distributed computing, large-scale distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure

Experience with performance analysis and optimization of high-throughput services

Proficiency in C++

Ability to analyze complex system trade-offs (e.g., latency vs. consistency) and justify architectural choices to the broader team

Excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
