UX Designer, Google Home Experience

The UX Designer for Google Home Experience will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive user experiences, focusing on the design and implementation of user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for smart home devices.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions
Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high-fidelity prototypes
Own the design of complete user experiences, from initial conceptualization and journey mapping to final interaction and visual specifications. Ensure a seamless, multi-modal experience across mobile, smart displays, speakers, and other home surfaces
Apply a visual design craft to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes, ensuring aesthetic quality, consistency, and compliance with the Material Design system. Drive the visual evolution of AI-driven responses within the Home interface
Contribute to and maintain a growing library of flexible, reusable multi-modal components and patterns specific to the Gemini for Home experience, ensuring consistency across all devices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
4 years of experience in product design or UX
Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes
Experience in implementing visual design systems across various platforms in a software development environment
Experience with smart home devices and services, or consumer products
Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions)
Preferred
Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization
Experience taking consumer products from conception to launch
Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process
Excellent communication skills with the ability to take initiative and build productive relationships with cross-functional partners
