DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard IT Support Services contract. The role involves administering, configuring, and maintaining Unix/Linux operating systems, as well as providing support for system performance and security in classified and unclassified environments.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux operating systems in classified and unclassified environments

Perform system patching, upgrades, hardening, and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DISA STIGs

Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues

Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions

Support backups, disaster recovery, and system restoration activities

Provide Tier II/III support and participate in after-hours or surge operations as required

Maintain system documentation and support change management processes

Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to support operational requirements

Required

Active Top Secret clearance required

Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering) with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience administering Unix/Linux systems in enterprise or DoD environments

Demonstrated experience supporting secure networks and mission-critical systems

Experience applying DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity policies to Unix/Linux systems

Strong troubleshooting skills and experience providing Tier II/III system support

Familiarity with network services, system monitoring tools, and enterprise backup solutions
