Interim Project Attorney

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a fully remote Interim Project Attorney for a duration of 12-24+ months. The role involves reviewing loan documentation, preparing legal correspondence, and managing a caseload of approximately 20 matters per month under the supervision of a managing attorney.

Responsibilities

Prepare, draft, and finalize high-volume, form-based legal correspondence, including breach letters and reservation of rights letters, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards
Review of credit approvals and Legal Loan Documentation. Interpret loan documentation for breach and understand who is obligated to comply with breach (not always the borrower)
Maintain and track all assigned matters using internal spreadsheets to ensure all activities and deadlines are properly documented in iManage
Manage a fluctuating caseload, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently to handle approximately 20 matters per month, with potential for increased volume
Collaborate effectively with supervising attorneys and other full-time employees, escalating complex legal issues as needed
Serve as a responsive and self-sufficient point of contact for business teams, effectively interacting with them to address their legal support needs
Take on additional responsibilities that could include drafting and managing confidentiality agreements (NDAs) and treasury service guarantees to support business needs

Required

BA and JD from ABA-accredited institution
3+ Years experience working in a Financial Institution
3+ Years experience working with loans and reading/interpreting loan documentation
Legal Skills: Strong understanding of legal principles, procedures, and legal document preparation
Adaptability: Proven ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to a broader range of legal duties as required
Work Ethic: A positive self-starter who is responsive, responsible, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, iManage and other legal management software for tracking and reporting purposes

Preferred

iManage or other matter management experience a plus
