Incoming Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities

Review supplier data packages to ensure incoming material conforms with purchase order, drawing, and customer requirements
Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications to ensure accurate quality assessments
Conduct visual inspections and functional tests on incoming materials, components, and packaging to verify they conform to approved specifications
Identify non-conforming materials, document them in Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs), and track them through to closure
Maintain accurate records of inspections, supplier data packs, test results, and material data
Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to ensure inspection activities are documented and traceable
Create and maintain documentation within the quality management system for compliance with internal procedures, including filing and archiving quality records
Identify areas for improvement in process and product relating to safety, quality, delivery and cost and elevate them to the Quality Manager
Support internal audits by ensuring compliance with internal procedures and assisting with corrective actions resulting from audit findings
Participate in external audits by demonstrating process compliance to our QMS and AS9100 requirements
Participate in meetings to understand daily operational priorities
Collaborate with procurement team to ensure supplier provides all necessary deliverables to satisfy purchase order requirements
Assist continuous improvement teams, as needed, to help drive company-wide improvements
Work with internal suppliers and customers to communicate and execute on daily operational needs

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of experience in quality compliance, or quality assurance
Two years of experience with recognized quality systems (AS9100)
Knowledge and practical application of industry standard quality practices
Proficiency in standard business software packages including word processing, excel spreadsheets, enterprise resource planning, and enterprise content management
Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by BNI, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on BNI or the client's property or job site
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Strong organizational and time management skills
High attention to detail
Ability to successfully plan and implement objectives within established timelines and work schedules
Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions at functional levels
Demonstrate behavior consistent with company values
Ability to work independently, with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter and within a team-oriented culture
Must be willing to work overtime as required
To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Barber-Nichols must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e., current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158

Preferred

Training certificates (CQE, CQA, CQT)
Experience in a complex metal manufacturing environment – aerospace and defense environments preferable
