Responsibilities

Provides senior-level administration and operational support for Oracle MySQL databases in large, multi-tiered production environments

Performs installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and maintenance of MySQL databases (8.x or higher)

Provides 24x7 production and on-call troubleshooting support to ensure database availability and performance

Performs advanced database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning

Develops and supports complex SQL queries and database objects such as tables, views, and stored routines

Supports database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity and resilience

Troubleshoots MySQL database issues and performs root cause analysis and resolution of database-related incidents

Supports MySQL database environments running on Linux and UNIX-based operating systems, including Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux

Works directly with onsite and offsite customers to gather requirements, analyze needs, and implement effective database solutions

Collaborates with application teams, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to support secure database operations

Documents database configurations, standards, procedures, and operational activities in accordance with DCoE policies

Works independently while providing technical guidance to junior and mid-level database administrators as needed

Required

Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience as a MySQL Database Administrator supporting enterprise and production database environments. Experience must include MySQL installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational support in a multi-tiered environment

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required. Fifteen (15) years of applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirements
