Responsibilities
Conduct a thorough assessment of our current on-premises data storage infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and networking components
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical considerations for the data center migration
Develop a comprehensive data center migration plan, outlining the step-by-step process, timeline, and resource requirements
Advise on industry best practices and standards for data center migration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and security protocols
Identify potential risks and challenges related to the migration process and provide mitigation strategies
Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors to coordinate the migration activities, ensuring seamless execution
Provide technical guidance and support during the migration process, addressing any issues or obstacles that may arise
Monitor and track the progress of the migration, providing regular updates to stakeholders and project managers
Conduct post-migration assessments to ensure the successful completion of the migration and verify data integrity and system functionality
Develop and deliver documentation, including migration plans, technical specifications, and post-migration reports
Offer recommendations for optimizing data center resources and improving overall data management efficiency
Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in data center technologies and migration methodologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience
Proven experience as a Data Center Migration Consultant or in a similar role, with expertise in data center infrastructure and migration processes
Strong knowledge of on-premises data storage systems, virtualization, and networking technologies
Familiarity with data center architectures, data replication, and disaster recovery strategies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop effective migration plans and solutions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks to meet project deadlines
