Country Manager
OnTheList is a leading premium flash sales concept founded in Hong Kong, focused on minimizing excess stock through sustainable sales opportunities. The Country Manager will be responsible for building the business in Malaysia, leading business development, market research, account management, and team building efforts.

Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate and pursue new leads and business opportunities to secure brand partnerships, and generate additional revenue streams
Support efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners, ensuring long-term collaboration and mutual success
Attend local and international industry events to generate leads, build strategic partnerships, and enhance market visibility (eg. Chamber of Commerce, luxury retail talks)
Conduct thorough market research and data mining to source new leads, analyze competitor activities, and stay updated on industry trends
Leverage industry insights to develop effective business strategies and identify untapped opportunities
Oversee the execution of all pre- and post-sales processes, including generating proposals, contracts, and invoices in alignment with the company’s standard operating procedures
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, delivering great customer service and ensuring satisfaction
Act as the local leader and representative of the company in Malaysia
Build, hire, and develop the local team as the business scales
Foster a strong company culture aligned with regional and global values
Provide coaching, performance management, and leadership to the team
Oversee day-to-day operations for online/offline flash sales, including the warehouse logistics aspects and the retail teams in Malaysia, ensuring efficient and compliant processes
Manage vendors, partners, and service providers as required
Ensure all processes are efficient, and operational challenges are addressed in a timely manner
Work closely with the marketing team/agency, to start to build a community and database in the market
Ensure marketing campaigns are aligned with business goals and contribute to sales growth
Responsible for identifying and reaching out to relevant communities, networks, and partners to grow our customer database with the right target audience
Build CRM acquisition funnels and optimize conversion touchpoints to ensure sustainable member growth
Drive initiatives to attract high-intent users that align with our brand and ultimately increase conversion and sales
Own the Malaysia P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Track KPIs and business performance, providing regular updates to regional leadership
Ensure financial discipline while supporting sustainable growth
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and employment requirements in Malaysia
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and industry players
Act as the main point of contact for regional HQ on all Malaysia-related matters
Qualification
Required
At least 8 years of experience in retail or ecommerce industry, at least 3 years of experience in managing role
Entrepreneurial, hands-on, eager to join an international family business with humility and start from scratch and be comfortable wearing multiple hats
Proficient in leadership, stakeholder management and relationship-building
Strong understanding of the Malaysia market, business landscape, and cultural nuances
Fluent in English
Preferred
Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is an advantage
