Hems & Brims is a fiscally sponsored project dedicated to closing the disparity gap for Black creatives in the fashion industry. They are seeking proactive, mission-driven interns to assist with curriculum support, student outreach, community engagement, and more as part of their upcoming six-month cohort.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Support: Assist in developing and organizing educational content, resources, and lesson plans for our upcoming cohort
Student Outreach: Help identify and engage students who may benefit from our program through school and community org partnerships
Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to high schools, colleges, nonprofits, and youth programs to promote registration and info sessions
Info Session Coordination: Support the facilitation of virtual information sessions, including follow-up communication with attendees
Partnership Development: Research and reach out to fashion organizations and professionals for potential collaboration or mentorship opportunities
Content Creation: Help create compelling educational, promotional, and social media content aligned with our program goals and audience needs
Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, tracking outreach efforts, and maintaining internal records related to registration and partnerships
Program Prep: Contribute to behind-the-scenes planning tasks, such as organizing onboarding materials

Qualification

Required

Strong communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Interest in fashion, education, or nonprofit program development

Preferred

Familiarity with Canva, Google Suite, Zoom, or similar platforms is a plus
Previous experience in outreach, curriculum development, or community engagement is a bonus, but not required
A creative background (e.g., art, graphic design, or related fields) is a strong plus, as we are seeking creative support for upcoming initiatives
