The role involves ensuring data accuracy and literacy, managing data governance documentation, and developing processes for data quality improvement.
Responsibilities
Analyzes and assesses the current data environment and develops plans for continuous improvement
Coordinates and facilitates data governance board and committee meetings and ensures completion of committee tasks
Supports data governance board leadership in the development of policies, standards, and procedures for data governance
Manages and maintains all data governance and data quality related documentation
Maintains permissions and user group access to the Tableau Server environment
Trains end users on Tableau dashboards access and navigation
Identifies, monitors, and reports data lake and ERP system data quality issues
Partners with functional offices to develop a process and resolution for data quality findings
Develops and maintains data definitions for the data lake and in support of the data governance program to improve data literacy across the University
Ensures the accessibility and availability of data on TCU institutional characteristics for University trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public by compiling and preparing institutional reports; responding to ad hoc requests for information; assisting with IR publications
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social science, communication, business analytics, or related discipline
3 years' experience in a data management, analytics, and reporting environment
Experience with Tableau Server, including project and permission management and organization
Knowledge of customer service techniques
Knowledge of ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred)
Knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques
Skill with reporting tools including Tableau software suite (preferred), PeopleSoft Query and/or SQL Server
Skill with Tableau Server dashboard deployment and management
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
Ability to work well with others
Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
Ability to problem-solve and develop process for resolution
Skill in MS Office suite
Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information
Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication
Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions
Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting
Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs
Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours
This role is an on campus, in-person position
There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate
Preferred
Master's degree in social science, communication, business analytics, or related discipline
Project Management expertise
Higher education experience
Prior work experience in data governance, data quality, and/or data literacy
