Accounting Specialist
Urology of Virginia (UVA) has a long history of providing comprehensive and quality care to the entire Hampton Roads region. They are seeking a professional Accounting Specialist who can execute bookkeeping functions for Urology of Virginia PLLC & associated entities in QuickBooks accounting systems.

Responsibilities
Execute bookkeeping functions for Urology of Virginia PLLC & associated entities in QuickBooks system including invoice entry, bank deposits & payments, bi-weekly payroll, month end & year end journal entry posting, etc
Prepare bank deposits & collections for all practice sites across Urology of Virginia PLLC bank accounts and associated entities
Review and verify invoices with Purchase Orders, communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues as necessary
Research all discrepancies with practice invoices and bills. Ensure accounts payable issues are resolved
Produce checks for all accounts payable, ensuring bills are accurate prior to payment, and are paid timely to avoid late fees and to receive discounts
Prepare weekly payment disbursements using QuickBooks and payable systems
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted and filed
Gather and verify receipts for credit cards accounts reconciliations
Process by-weekly payroll
Calculate and pay in a timely manner all tax bills as required by local, state, and federal government entities
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards monthly
Prepare month end financial reports and any other reports requested, needed for financial decision making
Assist in the month end & year-end close out of practice financials
Adheres to the laws and regulations of Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental payers in relation to performance of job duties
Report, in good faith, to the Accounting Manager any suspected violation of applicable laws and regulations
Establish, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that improve practice financial performance
Monitor key financial indicators and act accordingly when benchmarks are not being met
Provide financial reports to physicians and employees for benchmarking of practice goals as related to employee and physician bonus system
Adhere to all state and federal regulations as they pertain to financial activities of the practice
Assist Human Resources Generalist as needed
Qualification
Required
Associate degree education or higher in a business discipline. Relevant experience can be in lieu of education
High level of proficiency in QuickBooks
Working knowledge of general accounting principles
MS Office applications with advanced proficiency in Excel
Detail oriented, quick learner who can work at an above average pace
Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills
Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
