Responsibilities

Assist in updating demographic portraits
Contribute analysis and research support
Support the team’s quality control tasks
Provide general research support in the development of new survey questionnaires
Assist the research team on various aspects of the survey process, including questionnaire development, data management, statistical analysis, reporting of survey results and quality control
Work closely with staff
Learn new skills and have firsthand experience in data analysis and research production

Required

College students who are pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree and have completed a minimum of two years (in other words, rising juniors and seniors)
Interest in public opinion, polling and social science
Experience working with quantitative data and data analysis in SPSS, R, Stata, SAS or other statistical software
A cover letter that addresses the following: (1) Describe why you are interested in an internship with Pew Research Center's Race & Ethnicity team. (2) Please discuss your professional aspirations and how this internship would align with your career trajectory. (3) Tell us about a research project you worked on that you are especially proud of, and why (including any statistical analysis)
A resume, which should include a listing of relevant course work, and any data analysis software used
Applications that do not include a cover letter will not be considered complete

Preferred

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed at least one course in statistics or quantitative research design
