Staff Research Associate - Cancer / Neuroscience

Responsibilities

Conduct research on cell biology and its application to immune-associated diseases in the laboratory
Perform experiments involving gene cloning, tissue processing, cell culture, microscopy, flow cytometry, retroviral transduction, and other biochemical procedures
Breed, screen, immunize, and dissect transgenic mice
Help purchase and maintain equipment
Order supplies
Contribute to research projects by generating datasets and testing hypotheses using methods established in the lab including cell culture, flow cytometry, gene targeting using CRISPR-Cas9 and gene expression analysis

Required

SRA I: BA/BS degree in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience working in a research laboratory
Familiarity with pertinent laboratory techniques
Willingness to make a two-year commitment to the lab
SRA 2: In addition to the above, BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training

Preferred

MS in biology or a related field
Prior experience with R or Python programming
Neuroscience / cancer background
