Senior Business Development Director

LabConnect improves lives by partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and clinical research organizations to accelerate the development of new medicines. The Senior Business Development Director is responsible for strategic marketing and operations planning, identifying business opportunities, and negotiating deals to support organizational growth initiatives in the APAC sales territory.

Responsibilities

Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals
Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments
Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Once new business has been secured, the business development director works with other department heads and staff to coordinate account startup and transition service
Delivering presentations, conducting seminars, and participating in meetings with clients, external vendors or advisors

Required

Bachelor's Degree required
1 -3 years' experience in a Business Development/Account Management/Marketing role within central laboratory or CRO
Related laboratory experience or experience in the clinical trial industry and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellence in organization, communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of growth initiatives related to regional markets and target customer segments, with the ability to travel as necessary (15%)
