Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of a surveying and geomatics group, overseeing both field crews and technical office staff engaged in public and private sector land improvement projects
Establish and maintain relationships with key personnel and officials from various organizations and companies
Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient operations
Administer contracts and manage projects, including interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments to meet deadlines
Develop and lead surveying projects involving unique or complex challenges, conducting research and proposing innovative solutions
Prepare detailed proposals for potential surveying and geomatics projects
Support monthly billing processes to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
Qualification
Required
Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in North Carolina
Over 4 years of land surveying experience, including work with NCDOT and the City of Charlotte
More than 3 years of progressive experience in surveying management, leading teams and overseeing complex projects
2+ years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
Proficient in survey computations and platting using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and OpenRoads
Field experience with Trimble and Leica survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations
Skilled in survey data management using Trimble or Android-based devices
Strong self-motivation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth for mapping and documentation
Thorough working knowledge of GPS technologies and their application in land surveying
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
Must pass a drug screen and background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company MVR policy
