UL Research Institutes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing safety science research. They are seeking a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Summer 2026 Intern to gain hands-on experience in a research environment while supporting compliance with regulations and standards.

Public Safety

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and updating governance, risk, and compliance strategies, policies, and procedures

Participate in conducting risk assessments and gap analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies

Support the creation and maintenance of documentation related to compliance controls and procedures

Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management programs, including risk identification and assessment activities

Assist in preparing for internal audits and compliance reviews to assess the effectiveness of existing controls

Assist in the monthly phishing campaigns and metric reporting

Support the team in responding to external audits and regulatory inquiries by gathering evidence and compiling documentation

Collaborate with IT and other teams to help ensure security controls and compliance measures are in place

Participate in team meetings and provide input on ongoing projects and initiatives. Perform administrative duties as needed, including data entry, scheduling, and coordination of meetings
