Responsibilities
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis

Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience, High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
Preferred
The preferred candidate has held a US Navy or US Coast Guard Engineering rating, such as Damage Controlman, Electrician's Mate, Engineman, Gas Turbine Specialist, Hull Maintenance Technician, Machinist's Mate, or Machinery Repairman
The preferred candidate will have knowledge in the following areas: firefighting and shipboard damage control, basic understanding of principles of naval engineering, shipboard power and distribution, ship system operational and maintenance background, current damage control processes used on Navy ships
experience with Maritime Shipboard Training Teams: Damage Control Training Team (DCTT), Engineering Training Team (ETT), Integrated Training Team (ITT), etc
desired Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC)/Legacy NECs: U46A/4811, U57A, U15A/4202, U07A/4136, U16A/4206
program/project management
excellent communication, both written and verbal
critical thinking and problem solving skills
proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Access
ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
comfortable working in a 3D modeling environment
ability to read and interpret technical drawings
