They are seeking an Assistant Product Engineer to support product engineers in designing and detailing products for electrical construction projects, including renewable energy plants and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

Support product engineers throughout all stages of estimating, design, and implementation

Interpret and extract pertinent details from technical drawings and product information data sheets

Support product engineers in the development of detailed installation plans, especially product installation details

Create BOMs for all material including assemblies and sub-assemblies of electrical systems, under the supervision of a Product Engineer(s)

Perform cost analyses

Guide field personnel on intended methods of installation

Collect and implement installation feedback to assist in improving design and installation plans

Suggest ideas for new products that create value

Support product engineers throughout the product development lifecycle

Assist in the execution and/or implementation of new products and inspect products for conformity with design criteria, including fabrication oversight in the plant and installation oversight in the field

Contribute to and maintain product-related logs

Train on and perform duties in accordance with the quality management system (QMS)

Travel to project job sites (up to 10%)

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in electrical or construction projects

Understanding of electrical materials, construction means, and methods

Ability to read and understand technical drawings

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook

Travel to project job sites (up to 10%)

Preferred

Knowledge of renewable energy projects gained either through a trade education or an engineering degree is highly preferred, but not required

Experience with CAD and/or 3D Modeling software is a plus, but not required

2+ years as an Assistant Product Engineer or equivalent position in the construction or manufacturing industries, or 4+ years relevant experience on electrical construction projects
