University Animal Research Operations Analyst

The University Animal Research Operations Analyst will provide analytical and strategic support for the animal research program, focusing on improving operational, financial, and compliance performance while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
Responsibilities
Evaluating and improving the operational, financial, and compliance-related performance of a highly regulated research enterprise
Providing advanced analysis of workflows, staffing and financial models, facility utilization, and regulatory impacts to support efficient, sustainable, and compliant animal research operations
Synthesizing complex data from multiple functional areas and translating findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership
Partnering closely with veterinary leadership, research administration, compliance offices (IACUC, EH&S), facilities, and finance to inform strategic planning, resource allocation, and long-term program sustainability across the institution
Qualification
Required
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity or professional-level background in sponsored research administration, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution
Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to analyze complex, multi-source datasets and develop meaningful performance metrics
Significant progressively responsible experience in operational analysis, program evaluation, or financial analysis within a complex, regulated environment
Demonstrated experience supporting decision-making for leadership through data-driven analysis and recommendations
Strong operational acumen, including understanding of cost drivers, staffing models, and resource utilization
Ability to clearly communicate complex analyses and recommendations to senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive or confidential information
Preferred
Experience with institutional benchmarking, peer analysis, and best-practice assessments
Advanced proficiency with data visualization, financial modeling, or enterprise reporting tools
Experience supporting strategic planning, change management, or enterprise-wide operational improvement initiatives
