Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
The NSSMS/RAM Lead is responsible for leading a team of technicians to develop test procedures, groom/troubleshoot and test the NATO display consoles, MK 9 Tracker Illuminator System, MK 29 Guided Missile Launching System and the RAM MK 201 Launcher Servo Control and MK 144 Guided Missile Launcher
The NSSMS/RAM Lead must be able to effectively communicate with external customers including SUPSHIP, NAVSEA and Ship’s Force as well as coordinate with many different internal organizations to safely and successfully accomplish NSSMS/RAM testing on all CVN projects
In addition, the NSSMS/RAM Lead will be responsible for the successful completion of testing in support of Combat Systems Trial Rehearsal (CSTR) and Sea Trials

The NATO Sea Sparrow Surface Missile System/ Rolling Airframe Missile (NSSMS/RAM) Lead is a demanding position requiring in-depth technical knowledge, a solid grasp of the requirements of Electronic Navigation (GFE systems) and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) electronics experience
The Lead must be able to effectively communicate with external customers including SUPSHIP, NAVSEA and Ship's Force as well as coordinate with many different internal organizations to safely and successfully accomplish NSSMS/RAM testing on all CVN projects

Experience with UNIX/LINUX a plus

Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience, High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
