Responsibilities
Conduct consultations with prospective clients and serve as the principal contact between the Firm and its clients
Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, working under the supervision of senior attorneys, from case initiation through resolution
Compile all possible information, evidence, and documentation, including medical records and bills, loss of earnings documentation and change in lifestyle information
Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for filing in county and/or state courts
Negotiate and settle all assigned cases
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case status, answer questions, and address concerns
Representing clients in mediation, in deposition, and in court for motions, and other types of hearings
The Associate shall oversee the work of the Case Manager (CM). The Associate does not supervise the employment relationship with the CM, but the Associate has the authority to assign case-related tasks appropriate for the position, such as:
Client follow-up
Responding to client requests
Communicating with the client to obtain information/documents/records needed
Case tracking
Relay demands to insurance carriers
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Strong legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting legal documents
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A proactive approach to professional development and a willingness to learn from senior attorneys
Preferred
0-3 years of experience, with some exposure to personal injury law preferred
Bilingual Spanish/English skills
