Mid, Senior LevelEmpiric is developing a custom multi-sensor camera system for sports analytics applications. They are seeking a contractor with strong experience in camera hardware design, embedded electronics, optics, and prototype manufacturing to support various aspects of the system's development.

Responsibilities
Design and document the architecture for a multi-sensor embedded camera system
Evaluate and recommend CMOS image sensors, lenses, and associated components based on performance requirements
Assist with sensor interface design (MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, GMSL, etc.)
Design custom PCBAs for sensor breakout boards, synchronization circuitry, power regulation, and related electronics
Implement or support tight synchronization between sensors (sub-millisecond), using PWM-based triggering, external sync, or similar hardware methods
Work closely with software/firmware engineers during camera bring-up, testing, and debugging
Provide guidance on lens selection, optical layout, FOV, DOF, distortion constraints, and alignment tolerances
Support decisions that affect image quality, sensor alignment, and stitching viability
Support design of camera housings, sensor mounts, and mechanical structures
Provide CAD models, drawings, and tolerances for prototyping and production
Assist in redesigning or optimizing motorized camera mount systems (e.g., servo-based pan/tilt)
Assist with prototype manufacturing runs, including PCB fabrication/assembly and enclosure production
